Back to Work

Monday will be a hard day for me...I'm finally going back to work. It has been so nice being home with Audrey the past 9 weeks. I was hoping to stay home with her a little longer, but since I had to go on bed rest for several weeks before she was born, it's just not possible.

I am going to miss her so much! I can't even think about without crying. I will so miss my leisurely time in the mornings with her. She is such a happy baby first thing in the morning. The best part of my day is going to get her out of her bed in the morning. Her crying wakes me up, but when she sees me leaning over her crib, she gets the biggest smile; it is so beautiful and just melts my heart. I am so in love with her and so thankful to have her. She is such a blessing and dream come true...

Friends

My friend Stephanie came to town over the weekend, so Audrey and I got to spend some time with her and her boys, Cooper and Cash. Cash was born in September, so he's only a few months older than Audrey. These kids will grow up together like Stephanie and I did, so they might as well get used to each other. I think Cash and Audrey really hit it off!

Out for a Stroll

We took advantage of one those 80 degree February days last week to take Audrey and Buddy out for walk. Audrey really likes riding in her stroller and Buddy always up for a good stroll around the neighborhood.

Company

We've had lots of company the past few days. Nana, Frantz, Trey & Kaylee came to visit on Sunday and spent the night. Kaylee was so helpful with Audrey. Every time she needed a diaper change, Kaylee helped and she even helped give her a bath. Trey wasn't so into
helping with the bath and said he would just be a "spectator" instead.

Then on Monday one of my very best friends, Kyla, came to visit us all the way from Ft. Worth. It's always so much fun to show off Audrey to visitors. A year ago, I didn't believe this would ever happen!

Audrey's Nursery

Here are a few pictures of Audrey's nursery for those of you who have not seen it already. I had lots of fun planning the room and picking things out for it. Check out the beautiful canopy on her bed. My mom made it, isn't she talented!

Basketball Game

Audrey and I went to Caleb and Bradley's basketball game a couple of weeks ago. It's so much fun to watch them play, I can't believe they are both in high school now! Audrey spends most her time at the game sleeping in the arms of various admirers. She wakes up hungry every now and then and that's when Miss Hope comes in handy. She loves to help feed Audrey her bottle.

Audrey Goes to Church

We took Audrey to church for the first time this past Sunday. I had planned on getting pictures at home before and then one while we were there. But needless to say, getting ready for church with 6 week old is not that easy. We were 15 minutes late to church and I forgot my camara. We went to Grandma's afterward for lunch, so I snapped a picture there. As you can see it was an exhausting morning. Jeff and Audrey were napping by 2:00!

Visit to the Watkins

Friday night we headed to Fate to visit with Lori, Billy, Trey and Kaylee. Nana and Frantz were also in town, so we got to see everyone. As you can see, Audrey got plenty of attention. She has not been the happiest baby lately, so Kaylee didn't get to hold her nearly as long as she wanted. But Audrey is feeling much better the past few days, so next time Kaylee can hold her until her hearts content.

Photo Shoot

Nana and Frantz came for a visit last weekend, and Nana and I tried to take advantage of some time Audrey was in a fairly good mood and feeling okay to do a photo shoot. We were trying to get the perfect picture for her birth announcement. Don't know if we got the perfect shot, but these sure are cute!

Feeling a Little Better

Well, it turns out that Audrey has a really bad case of reflux. We took her to have a barium swallow test and x-ray on Tuesday morning. Her pediatrician said that she had a pretty significant case of reflux and prescribed two medications that she takes several times a day. They seem to helping a little already, so hopefully very soon, she will be a much happier little girl.

Fussy Baby

It's been a rough few days in the Arie household. Audrey has been really fussy and seems to have a tummy ache all the time. We called the doctor and he seems to think she may have colic. He called in some drops for her to take that help a little. Today we are off to the doctor to get her checked out a little further.
There are a few things that calm her down when she's really upset. Jeff figured out that she loves to look at the big light in the kitchen, so we spend quite a bit of time at night standing there with her. She also likes the sound of the vacuum cleaner, so I was able to carry her in her sling and vacuum the entire house one night!

First Visit to the Office

After my doctor's appointment last week, I stopped by one of the campuses I work at to show off my little sweetie. All my friends at work were so supportive and sweet to me throughout my entire pregnancy. It is so much fun to share this time with them too!
